Privacy
What LibrePad keeps.
As little as we can, and never to share or sell. Here it is in plain words.
If you have an account
An account needs no email address. We keep:
- your username, and the name you chose to show;
- a fingerprint of your password. Your password is scrambled on your own device before it is sent, so we never see it, and we can’t tell you what it was;
- the day you joined;
- your quiz results, chapter by chapter: your answers, the score and the date. They are kept so your scores come back if you sign in on a new phone;
- a note that a phone is signed in, which lasts 180 days or until you sign out.
Your phone or computer also keeps its own copies of your books and scores in the browser. The reader keeps your quiz answers in its own memory.
If you join a list
The waitlist for ready-made LibrePads keeps your email address and the day you joined. The teachers’ list keeps the same, and the ways you said you could help.
What we don’t do
- We don’t ask for an email address to make an account, or for anyone’s real name.
- We don’t show ads.
- We don’t share or sell any of it.
Children
Accounts are for grown-ups. If you set one up for a child, please don’t use their real name, as a username or as the name shown. We ask nothing else about children.
The rest
- This site sets one small cookie, called
librepad. It only says that this browser uses the Library, so the home page can send you there. It holds nothing about you. - Our host, Cloudflare, sees the usual details of a visit, such as your IP address and browser, and counts visits.
Your choices
Write to support@librepad.app and we’ll:
- delete your account and everything with it, your scores included;
- take your address off a list;
- set a new password, if you forgot yours.
If this changes in a way that matters, we’ll say so here.
